Humanoid Origin, a game studio from Canada, is sadly shutting down. The company shared this news on LinkedIn, explaining that they couldn’t protect themselves from the “broader challenges” facing the gaming industry today, nor could they secure enough financial backing to continue their journey.
Established in 2021 by Casey Hudson, who was previously the general manager at BioWare, Humanoid Origin had some ambitious goals. Unfortunately, the studio won’t be able to see its new science-fiction universe come to life. “We’re devastated that we can’t complete our new sci-fi world. Right now, our biggest priority is our team, and we’re fully committed to helping them move on to new job opportunities,” the studio expressed. They added, “In our time together, the team made incredible strides and proved that you can create amazing things while maintaining a culture that’s both fun and creative. We are grateful for their talent, courage, and the friendships formed.”
