It’s an exciting time for racing enthusiasts as we gear up for the Gran Turismo World Series 2024 World Finals in Amsterdam. After some thrilling rounds in Montreal, Prague, and Tokyo over the past few months, the competition is tighter than ever as the racers return to Theater Amsterdam, the site of last year’s World Series Showdown.
To kick off the finals weekend, the Toyota Gazoo Racing GT Cup serves as a high-octane warm-up. This event, taking place at 16:00 CET on Friday, December 7, promises intense competition. With a mix of experienced World Series participants and fresh faces eager to make their mark, this race is set to be a real nail-biter. Twenty-four racers from across the globe will compete in two heats, with the ultimate champion of 2024 crowned after the Grand Final.
Leading the pack in the Manufacturers Cup is Team Lexus, although they’ll be missing their star player, Igor Fraga from Brazil, due to his commitments in the Super GT circuit in Japan. Stepping in for him will be Harald Walsen from Chile, while Team Porsche, hot on their heels, hopes to close their four-point gap, and Team BMW is in close pursuit, just a single point behind them.
Expect some strategic wheeling and dealing during the Manufacturers Cup, which will feature live coverage at 19:00 CET on Friday. For the first time this season, drivers who have individually represented their teams in earlier rounds will join forces in Amsterdam, collaborating on both racing and strategy.
Sunday, December 8 brings the Nations Cup into the spotlight at 16:00 CET. French racer Kylian Drumont’s flawless performance in Tokyo has put him at the top of the leaderboard, but it’s a tight race. He holds just a single point advantage over a trio of former champions: Jose Serrano from Spain, Takuma Miyazono, the Montreal victor from Japan, and Valerio Gallo, who triumphed in Prague.
The stage is set for an electrifying showdown at Theater Amsterdam, but if you can’t witness this spectacular event in person, make sure to tune in to the live streams:
