Capcom has delighted fans by announcing that the much-anticipated action RPG, Monster Hunter Wilds, will be optimized for the PS5 Pro right from its launch. Scheduled for release on February 28, 2025, the game will receive an enhancement patch on day one. Although Capcom hasn’t gone into detail about these enhancements, they have shared the graphics and resolution targets for the console.
### Monster Hunter Wilds Ramps Up the PS5 Pro Game Library
In a recent community update, Capcom revealed that the standard PS5 version of Monster Hunter Wilds will feature two modes: ‘Prioritize Graphics’ and ‘Prioritize Framerate.’ For those wanting the best visuals, the ‘Prioritize Graphics’ mode will offer resolutions of 3840 x 2160 and 3072 x 1728 at 30 fps. Alternatively, the ‘Prioritize Framerate’ mode ensures smoother gameplay with resolutions of 3840 x 2160 and 1920 x 1080 at 60 fps.
Capcom also took to X (formerly Twitter) to assure fans that they “have addressed rendering issues from the Open Beta Test and are making steady improvements for launch.” This announcement was accompanied by a sneak peek of the ongoing improvements in the “Prioritize Performance” mode on PS5. It’s great to see developers actively engaging with community feedback and working diligently to enhance the game’s performance before its official release.
The open beta did highlight some performance concerns, especially for the PC version, which faced significant issues. Capcom has had some hurdles in the past, notably with the PS5 performance of Dragon’s Dogma 2, where the enhancements didn’t quite hit the mark. Therefore, it’s a tremendous relief to know that the PS5 Pro patch for Monster Hunter Wilds is being fine-tuned well before the game’s official debut. This proactive approach should hopefully result in a seamless gaming experience for eager players.
