The newest update for Cyberpunk 2077 focuses mainly on smoothing out some persistent glitches, but nestled within the patch notes is news that’s causing quite a stir.
With Nvidia’s GeForce RTX 50 series GPUs set to debut on January 30, gamers running Cyberpunk 2077 on older PCs now get to experiment with some fresh DLSS 4 features—or “deep learning super sampling” as it’s known. Among these upgrades are an improved model for single-frame generation, which not only enhances performance but also cuts down on VRAM usage. There’s also a new Transformer model enhancing stability, plus better lighting and detail during motion.
According to The Verge, the Nvidia subreddit is already buzzing with users testing out this tech and sharing side-by-side comparison shots.
For those Cyberpunk 2077 fans planning to snag an RTX 50 series GPU later this month, there’s more good news. Multi Frame Generation will be available, promising to “boost FPS by using AI to generate up to three times per traditionally rendered frame,” according to the patch notes. Sounds pretty exciting, doesn’t it?
On January 6, Nvidia unveiled a lengthy lineup of games that will eventually benefit from this DLSS 4 technology. This includes big names like Diablo IV, God of War Ragnarök, Indiana Jones and the Great Circle, Marvel Rivals, Microsoft Flight Simulator, STALKER 2: Heart of Chornobyl, and many more.
