When Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 made its grand debut last October, fans were thrilled by the comeback of the classic round-based Zombies mode. Spread across two highly replayable maps, this iteration of Zombies delivered an abundance of Easter eggs, a selection of beloved Perk-a-Colas, and a captivating mix of new and old Wonder Weapons. In other words, it seemed to offer everything that players cherished about Call of Duty Zombies.
This was merely the start of the excitement. “Citadelle des Morts,” a map reminiscent of Black Ops 3’s adored Der Eisendrache, was unveiled in December during the Season 1 Reloaded update. Now, as Black Ops 6 gears up for Season 2, players are eagerly anticipating another map addition to this already dense shooter. Named “The Tomb,” this new map promises plenty of familiar elements, and its reveal may have unintentionally hinted at what’s coming next in the game.
Before the Season 1 Reloaded update dropped in December 2024, a flurry of leaks hinted at what’s to come, with many focusing on the anticipated map and its contents. Data miners found clues in the game’s files suggesting the addition of five Perk-a-Colas via future updates. These were Mule Kick, Vulture Aid, Tombstone, Double Tap, and Death Perception.
Once Season 1 Reloaded kicked off, Treyarch confirmed Vulture Aid’s return with the release of Citadelle des Morts. Thanks to Season 2’s reveal, we’ve learned that Death Perception will join the fray with the introduction of The Tomb. While leaks are always to be taken with skepticism, the ongoing development may prove some true, as two of the five Perks have now been confirmed. If this pattern holds, enthusiasts may soon see Tombstone, Mule Kick, or Double Tap joining the fray next.
On January 8, 2025, a Reddit user, GenoGM, shared a post on the r/CODZombies subreddit. They reported requesting their game data from Activision and receiving a spreadsheet covering various Call of Duty stats. The area of interest fell upon the Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 Zombies section, which surprisingly included kill counters for enemies like Mimics, Disciples, Mangles, and others.
GenoGM speculated that the presence of Mimic and Disciple indicators hinted at these enemy types returning to Black Ops 6 Zombies in a later update. With Black Ops 6 Season 2 now revealing that Mimics are indeed making a comeback—though with electrifying new tweaks—it’s conceivable that Disciples might soon reappear.
Developed by Treyarch and Raven, Black Ops 6 is an action-packed spy thriller situated in the early ’90s—a time of global shifts marked by the end of the Cold War and America’s rise as a superpower. With an engaging narrative and gameplay unaffected by conventional bounds, Black Ops 6 stands true to its legacy. Featuring dynamic multiplayer battles over 16 new maps at debut, including core 6v6 arenas and striking 2v2 or 6v6 setups, this game ensures a top-tier experience. Furthermore, the much-loved Round-Based Zombies mode returns, offering fresh maps and challenges post-launch, enriching both the Multiplayer and Zombies landscapes.
