It seems that Dragon Age: The Veilguard might have seen its last significant update, according to the latest patch notes. EA recently shared that the game has attracted 1.5 million players, which is only half of what they had anticipated. This apparently led to the decision to cease major post-launch support just three months after release.
Dragon Age: The Veilguard Update 5 Patch Notes
Bioware kicked off the patch notes for Dragon Age: The Veilguard’s fifth update by stating they will only be keeping an eye out for critical bugs and issues moving forward. This has fueled speculation that this marks the end of major updates for the game.
“We’re thrilled with how stable the game was at launch and hope you’ve appreciated our quality of life updates since,” the patch notes indicate. “Now that the game is in a stable state, we’ll focus on monitoring for any game-breaking bugs that might arise.”
While Bioware didn’t explicitly declare this the final update, it certainly feels like a closing chapter.
Here’s what the rest of the update includes:
Quality of Life Changes:
- Recommended levels have been added to side quests that players might encounter at much lower levels than intended.
Bug Fixes:
- Resolved an issue where Rook was only able to flirt with Lucanis during a specific conversation.
- Fixed a problem with the “Regrets of The Dread Wolf” quest where it either failed to trigger properly or stopped Rook with an invisible wall in the Crossroads.
- Addressed a blocking issue with a puzzle in the Converged City area of the Crossroads.
- Corrected the “Imperium’s Resolve” armor, which was incorrectly causing negative damage rather than the intended zero fire, cold, necrotic, and electric damage.
- Fixed excessive clipping on Taash’s “Rivain’s Legacy” armor.
- Resolved an issue preventing some Rooks from changing the runes on their lyrium dagger.
- Fixed a bug with the Medium Armor Mastery skill for Warriors.
- Cleared up a spot on Rivain’s beach where Rook could become stuck in an endless drowning cycle, with their companions unable to assist.
- Corrected a typo on a note that Rook can discover in Dock Town.
- Fixed an issue that degraded photo mode screenshots quality when HDR was enabled.
- Addressed a bug causing the photo mode screenshot location to still appear on screen.
- Resolved a problem with the fireflies in the Crossroads’ opening area flickering too rapidly under specific settings.
- Fixed a lighting issue during one of the team conversations in the Lighthouse.
- Corrected a bug in the Mirror of Transformation that prevented zooming in and out with the mouse scroll wheel.
- Fixed an issue where the Objective Marker Visibility didn’t update when changing the exploration preset in the Exploration sub-category.
- Made some adjustments to the game credits.
This comprehensive update might signal the end of the road for major changes in Dragon Age: The Veilguard, leaving fans to enjoy a polished gaming experience.
