As the nostalgia for the PlayStation Vita drifts away like forgotten dreams, several of its games have found new life on contemporary systems. One of those is the 2012 action RPG, Mobile Suit Gundam SEED Battle Destiny, which is set to receive a remaster soon. Interestingly, despite its origins as a PlayStation Vita exclusive, this will be the first time the game graces the Western market, yet it won’t be landing on any PlayStation consoles.
The updated version, simply named Mobile Suit Gundam SEED Battle Destiny Remastered, is making its debut on the Nintendo Switch and PC via Steam on May 22. This remaster aims to rejuvenate the classic with modern enhancements, including improved graphics, a reworked user interface, new gameplay elements, and—for the first time—an English localization.
In this remastered edition, players can look forward to a more user-friendly experience thanks to several quality-of-life improvements. These upgrades feature better tuning, easier mission selection, and a lock-on mode to enhance gameplay. Curious to see how the old favorite has been transformed? Check out the trailer for a sneak peek at the revamped cult classic.
In this game’s universe, you step into the shoes of a soldier navigating turbulent times. You’ll have the option to align yourself with one of three factions: Earth Alliance, Z.A.F.T, or Archangel. The game features a variety of story missions inspired by memorable moments from the series, including Mobile Suit Gundam SEED and Mobile Suit Gundam SEED Destiny. There are also missions from side stories like Mobile Suit Gundam SEED Astray and Mobile Suit Gundam SEED C.E. 73: STARGAZER. With over 100 different mobile suits available, players can customize their mechs for exhilarating, action-driven battles.
For PlayStation fans who also own a Nintendo Switch or gaming PC, preorders for the PC version are now live, while those for the Switch will open soon.
