At the recent PlayStation State of Play event, the unveiling of Days Gone Remastered stirred up some unexpected reactions, sparking a wave of criticism from PlayStation fans.
The announcement didn’t sit well with many, largely because of the game’s pricing. Despite the grumbles from the community, the preorders tell a different story—they’re moving briskly ahead of the game’s release on April 25.
Days Gone Remastered has secured a spot among the top ten best-selling preorders on the PlayStation Store. Initially highlighted by X user @vikingdad278, the remaster was proudly perched at eighth place. However, it has recently slipped to number ten.
Joining Days Gone Remastered in the top ten are various versions of Monster Hunter Wilds, two editions of MLB The Show 25, the Elden Ring Nightreign Deluxe Edition, WWE 2K25, PGA 2K25, and the digital deluxe edition of Assassin’s Creed Shadows. Interestingly, even though Days Gone Remastered is trailing some heavy hitters, it still outpaces preorders for Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater, Like a Dragon: Pirate Yakuza in Hawaii, and Doom: The Dark Ages.
The preorder surge is intriguing, especially when you consider the pricing structure for Days Gone Remastered. Similar to other first-party remasters from PlayStation, if you already own the game, either digitally or physically, you’re eligible for a steep discount, snagging it for just $10. Otherwise, newcomers are looking at a price tag of $49.99.
It’s worth noting that those who own the game through Sony’s PlayStation Plus subscription service aren’t able to benefit from the discount. While it remains unclear just how many preorder customers are taking advantage of the $10 offer, it’s reasonable to suspect that a fair number of existing owners are seizing this opportunity to upgrade at a lower cost.
