The team at Combat Waffle, well-known for their work on Ghosts of Tabor, is gearing up for the release of their next big VR experience, Silent North. Set to bring heart-racing multiplayer zombie survival to players, this thrilling shooter is expected to hit Quest and Steam’s early access platforms in March.
Under the wing of Beyond Frames Entertainment, Silent North transports gamers to the lofty heights of the Swiss Alps. Here, survival is the name of the game in a world gripped not only by zombies but by the cutthroat tendencies of fellow survivors who are as eager to loot as you are.
Players have the option to band together or brave the undead hordes alone, all while scouring for essential gear and fending off a never-ending stream of ravenous zombies, the developers tease.
According to the game’s description, “Silent North is a battlefield teeming with PVPVE chaos. No matter where you roam—be it rugged mountains or open plains—you’re bound to face clashes with both the living and the infected. Prepare for intense firefights fuelled by adrenaline or learn to stalk your foes in the wilderness. But be cautious; unseen players could be poised to ambush you.”
Pre-orders for Silent North have now opened on the Horizon Store, available at $17, reflecting a 15% discount from its standard $20 pricing. Starting today, you can also wishlist the game on Steam, where a similar discount will apply at launch.
While early access launches on Steam and the Horizon Store are around the corner, there’s no word yet on when Silent North will expand to other VR platforms like PSVR 2 and Pico headsets.
In an update from the studio on February 21, 2024, they confirmed plans for a March release, though a definitive date remains under wraps.
