According to recent updates, the much-anticipated launch of NVIDIA’s RTX 5060 series GPUs has been pushed back a few weeks, with board partners being officially notified of the delay.
Rumor has it that NVIDIA’s GeForce RTX 5060 Ti, which was initially slated for an April launch, alongside its counterpart, the RTX 5060, set for a May release, are both experiencing setbacks. Earlier, whispers in the industry suggested a March reveal with availability in April. However, the latest information indicates these release dates have been nudged into the future.
While the exact reasons behind these delays remain a bit murky, sources from Board Channels claim that NVIDIA has internally communicated with its board partners about the postponement. Although there’s no official announcement yet, it’s plausible this delay report holds water, especially since NVIDIA has yet to publicly confirm any specific release details for the RTX 5060.
In a message shared by Board Channels, NVIDIA has supposedly informed its AIC partners via email about the rescheduled timeline. The email hints that the RTX 5060 Ti 16G and 8G versions might arrive by mid-April, with the RTX 5060 following suit in mid-May. Precise launch dates are still in the air, pending further updates from NVIDIA.
Interestingly, this rescheduling could mean the RTX 5060 series GPUs might hit the market around the same time as AMD’s RX 9060 series, which includes the RX 9060 XT and RX 9060 cards. These AMD cards offer 8 GB and 16 GB options, directly challenging NVIDIA’s RTX 5060 Ti lineup. Although the exact launch window for the RX 9060 series hasn’t been locked in, they’re also tipped to debut in the second quarter.
The RTX 5060 Ti, set to replace the 4060 Ti, is anticipated to pack quite a punch with 4608 CUDA Cores, choices of 8/16 GB GDDR7 VRAM, and a power consumption of 180W. Meanwhile, the RTX 5060, taking over from the 4060, will reportedly boast 3840 CUDA Cores, 8 GB GDDR7 VRAM, and a 150W TDP. Yet, there have been murmurs about a 12 GB version of the RTX 5060 emerging in leaks. If true, this could give NVIDIA a competitive edge as AMD’s RX 9060 series reportedly sticks with just an 8 GB variant.
