This week, the Nintendo Switch eShop is delivering a slew of new treats for gaming enthusiasts. Not only are there a handful of SNES classics making a comeback, but Nintendo’s music app is also getting a melodious boost, and tempting sales are creeping up to delight shoppers alongside a fresh lineup of new games.
The Switch Online library is seeing a nice expansion with four vintage offerings from the golden SNES era, courtesy of developer Koei. Leading this classic revival are Nobunaga’s Ambition and its sequel, Nobunaga’s Ambition: Lord of Darkness, both captivating players since their original launches in 1993 and 1994. Set against the backdrop of Japan’s Sengoku period, these games invite you to take on the role of a lord whose ambition is to reunite the warring states.
Adding to the collection is the strategic gem, Romance of the Three Kingdoms IV Wall of Fire, an exciting 1994 title born from the celebrated historical tale set in ancient China. Koei continues to flex its historical muscles with Uncharted Waters: New Horizons, a thrilling nautical adventure celebrating Europe’s Age of Discovery, initially released in 1993.
On the music front, Nintendo’s sound app is playing a new tune, albeit an incomplete one. This week, fans of Kirby and the Forgotten Land can enjoy 23 tracks from its soundtrack. However, the rest of the OST remains elusive—let’s hope they dock into the app soon enough.
Plenty of fresh titles are set to hit the Switch eShop shelves too. Among them is a curious offer called Which Way Up: Galaxy Games. We had the pleasure of chatting with Turtle Flip Studio, the creative minds behind this intriguing game, during last week’s Pure Nintendo Podcast. It’s an interview you might want to check out before the full review rolls out.
So, that’s the buzz on the eShop this week. Got your eyes on any of these new releases? Let us know what you’ll be diving into!
