Kluge Interactive, known for their VR rhythm sensation Synth Riders, is gearing up to release their latest venture, FINAL FURY, a fighting game set for early access on Quest and SteamVR headsets next month.
Hitting Quest 2 and higher, as well as PC VR on May 8th, Final Fury delivers the excitement of classic 1v1 arcade fighting to virtual reality with its innovative gesture-based gameplay.
With insights from Justin Wong, a nine-time EVO champion, this early access version blends hand gestures with real room-scale movement, allowing players to dive into the personas of six unique fighters. More characters and stages are set to enhance the lineup after launch.
“When Kluge Interactive first pitched FINAL FURY to me, I was fascinated by their concept of merging traditional fighting game mechanics into a first-person VR setting,” Wong shared. “Having played and suggested improvements on mechanics like dashes and grabs, I’m eager to see how fans react when it hits Early Access.”
Upon release, here’s what you can expect from the game:
Be the Fighter! – Engage in fully immersive VR battles with genuine punches, dodges, and blocks.
Innovative VR Combat – Experience classic fighter mechanics reimagined for physical engagement.
Expanding Roster – Six fighters await, each with distinctive powers, arenas, and styles, with more to come.
Arcade Mode Unlocks – Challenge the AI to unlock a new fighter, stage, and cosmetics.
Online Multiplayer – Enjoy cross-platform support with rollback netcode for smooth, competitive experiences.
Pulse-Pounding OST – Original tracks by Zardonic, known for his work on SUPERHOT: MCD.
Interested players can wishlist Final Fury on the Horizon Store for Quest 2 and on Steam for PC VR headsets. It launches on May 8th at a price of $9.99.
