ASRock’s Radeon RX 9070 graphics cards have made a surprise online debut, showcasing the upcoming Steel Legend and Taichi versions.
ASRock seems to be ahead of the curve with its preparation for AMD’s RDNA 4 lineup, specifically focusing on the Radeon RX 9070 and RX 9070 XT. Although we’re still waiting on official images from other third-party manufacturers, ASRock has revealed three different variants online: Steel Legend, Taichi, and Challenger models. Starting with the Taichi series, it’s set to be ASRock’s premium offering, featuring a sophisticated triple-fan design accompanied by a robust heatsink, making it a three-slot card.
What’s particularly fascinating about the Taichi model is its inclusion of a 12V-2×6 power connector. Not all models will sport this connector, as AMD has given AIB partners the flexibility to decide based on each model’s power requirements. This connector can handle up to 600W of power, indicating that the Taichi variant will be well-equipped in terms of specs and overclocking prowess.
Following that is the Steel Legend variant, positioned as a mid-range option from ASRock, available in both white and silver color schemes. With a 2.5-slot triple-fan configuration, this version opts for a 2x 8-pin power connector instead of the 12V-2×6, aligning with the standard offering for most AMD AIB models, excluding some higher-end models like the Taichi series.
As for when these GPUs will be available, it’s a good guess that they’ll start hitting the shelves next week, around the time AMD is rumored to open pre-orders for its RX 9070 series.
