This week, Team Asobi is gifting fans of their acclaimed 3D platformer, Astro Bot, with a special holiday-themed treat—an entirely new level named “Winter Wonder.” Scheduled to roll out on Thursday evening, this frosty adventure will be available for players who have already completed the game.
While the developers are keeping many details under wraps, they assured fans via a post on the PlayStation blog that they can look forward to a lively set full of shiny presents, the cheerful sound of jingle bells, and some fresh, special bots to discover. Designed to captivate both children and adults, the level guarantees a smooth ride without any overly challenging obstacles.
Team Asobi has long been Sony’s trusted partner for creating engaging tech demos. Among their notable creations are Astro’s Playroom, which launched alongside the PlayStation 5 to showcase its new features, as well as Astro Bot Rescue Mission, which highlighted the capabilities of the PlayStation VR headset.
In their PlayStation blog announcement, the team expressed that this new addition is a token of gratitude for the overwhelming support from both fans and critics. “Since releasing Astro Bot earlier this year on PlayStation 5, we have been submerged by lovely comments from you and the PlayStation community, and we are delighted with the critical response to the game all over the world,” shared Nicolas Doucet, Team Asobi’s studio director. “From the bottom of our hearts, thank you so much for showing your appreciation.
