Bungie has officially rolled out details for the 2025 installment of Guardian Games in Destiny 2, and there’s plenty to get excited about. Players looking to earn medallions will find fresh rewards and can dive into a novel game mode called Rushdown. It’s indeed a bustling period for Destiny enthusiasts, with Episode Heresy’s Act 2 about to drop right on the heels of the Moments of Triumph event—a celebration with its own set of achievements for players to tackle.
Destiny 2, thriving as a live-service game, is known for its major seasonal festivities. These events offer a unique opportunity to partake in specific activities and snag exclusive rewards. Guardian Games, in particular, has become the game’s signature spring affair, pitting the three player classes against each other to see who can amass and bank the most medals over a set period. Now, as March brings its arrival, Bungie has pulled back the curtain on what we can expect in Guardian Games 2025.
The fundamental aspect of Guardian Games remains unchanged—players will continue to earn medallions through various activities, which they can then deposit at the Tower Podium. However, this year, Guardian Games Nightfalls and Focused Activities won’t be making a return. Instead, the spotlight is on Rushdown, an exciting addition that challenges players with five progressively intense boss fights, promising better loot based on their performance. Players can choose from three difficulty levels and various matchmaking options, including venturing with random teammates, forming a squad of their own class, or assembling a private fireteam.
Mark your calendars because there’s plenty on offer this year. Returning popular items such as the Allstar Vector Skimmer, Taraxippos, The Title, and Hullabaloo are available, plus a new arc-powered trace rifle named Keraunios. Guardian Games 2025 also brings fresh armor sets available in the Eververse store, which can be bought with Bright Dust or Silver. Additionally, there’s the earnable Champ title and seal up for grabs. Individual accolades are awarded too—players can earn armor glows for being the top performer in the Tower, showing stellar weekly Rushdown skills, being a member of the winning class each day, or even excelling in Supremacy or Gambit.
On top of this, Destiny 2 fans have a slew of content updates to look forward to in the upcoming weeks. Besides the Moments of Triumph and Guardian Games, Act 2 introduces Court of Blades, a new activity blending a boss rush mode with roguelite elements. Bungie also teased the Rite of the Nine, a fresh activity set to arrive with Act 3’s launch. Additionally, dungeons such as The Prophecy, Spire of the Watcher, and Ghost of the Deep will be available for all players, offering unique modifiers and a Pantheon-style challenge mode to elevate the difficulty.
