Action RPG Elden Ring has hit an impressive milestone, with over 28.6 million copies sold so far.
This exciting news comes from publisher Bandai Namco, who shared the achievement while also unveiling a new multiplayer-themed spin-off, Nightreign, during The Game Awards last week. The sales figures are updated up until the end of September.
Back in June, the official sales count stood at 25 million copies. Since then, Elden Ring has managed to sell an additional 3.6 million copies, likely boosted by appealing discounts and the release of the Shadow of the Erdtree expansion during the summer months.
As noted by Niko Partners’ Daniel Ahmad on Twitter, this remarkable sales milestone means that Elden Ring has outperformed the entire Dark Souls franchise in terms of units sold. The Dark Souls series, which began back in 2011, has reached 27 million copies sold in total.
