This week, we dove into our Top Five Games of 2024, sparking an engaging mix of opinions and preferences.
If you’re not familiar with how we do things at RFN, you’ll find that we operate with a wonderfully loose set of guidelines. Essentially, any game on Nintendo platforms from 2024 is fair game. But don’t get too caught up in restrictions—these are more like friendly suggestions. Ideally, you’ll want to have actually played the game in 2024, but we’ve even seen instances where that’s not been the case. Those are rare exceptions, though.
Given how flexible the guidelines are, trying to nail down a group consensus for a Top Five is out of the question. So, each list is a personal reflection of our own gaming journeys this year.
You’ll see some games pop up on more than one list. Interestingly, the top-ranked spot is the same for two of us. As for the game that made it there, I doubt anyone will guess it—it’s a bit of a curveball. Still, I’m sure someone out there will claim they knew all along, but allow me to remain skeptical of those claims!
Feel free to share your thoughts with us, even if your predictions are little more than whispers in the digital wind.
This episode was skillfully edited by Guillaume Veillette. The iconic “Men of Leisure” theme song is a unique creation by Perry Burkum, and you can find more of his work on SoundCloud. The Radio Free Nintendo logo, a visual treat designed by Connor Strickland, can be seen on his website.
Our outro this week features “Chasing After Dad” from Another Code Recollection, a beautiful piece requested by A.G. Of course, all rights to this track are reserved by Nintendo Co., Ltd.
