It’s been a thrilling year watching the Xbox app for Windows PC gain traction and capture the interest of gamers everywhere. Today, I’m excited to announce that the revamped Home experience we’ve been trialing with Xbox Insiders is finally available to everyone through the Xbox app on Windows PC. This update aims to streamline the process of finding favorite games and discovering new ones, making it a breeze for players.
The Home section now prominently displays featured content, ensuring gamers are always in the loop when it comes to the latest releases, upcoming events, and Game Pass additions. Plus, there are curated collections and recommendations, alongside some attractive deals and discounts. One standout is the "Jump back in" feature, allowing players in Compact Mode to dive right back into their games with a click from the game hub.
While the app is a favorite destination for accessing Game Pass titles, it’s evolving into a top spot for discovering incredible Xbox games outside the subscription. Earlier this summer, we embarked on a mission alongside our partners to bring all PC games with Xbox features into the Xbox app. We’re thrilled to anticipate the exciting variety of Xbox games heading to Windows PC and to now have nearly 400 previously hard-to-find titles at your fingertips.
Amongst these are numerous offerings from esteemed Japanese developers Kemco and Kairosoft, alongside hits like Shovel Knight Treasure Trove by Yacht Club, The Jackbox Party Pack, and The Invincible by Double 11, among many others.
An exciting addition is that over 100 of these new games are Xbox Play Anywhere titles. That means if you purchase the Xbox console version, you’ll also have access to the Xbox PC version, and vice versa. Players are big fans of the seamless experience offered by universal Xbox ownership, universal cloud saves, and cross-play across Xbox and PC versions (and potentially other platforms, depending on the developer).
With the rise of Windows handheld gaming, this is a fantastic opportunity for developers to reach both current and future players wherever they choose to game. It gives players the flexibility to enjoy their favorite titles and connect with friends on the go.
