Nintendo has pointed out that exclusive games are going to play a “crucial” role when the Nintendo Switch 2 makes its debut.
This remark came up during a session with shareholders, where someone inquired whether new games for the current Nintendo Switch would still be in the pipeline once its successor was available in stores.
Responding to this, Nintendo’s president, Shuntaro Furukawa, stated, “Up to this point, we have announced Pokémon Legends: Z-A and Metroid Prime 4: Beyond as titles for the Nintendo Switch with releases planned for 2025. Given the large number of people still enjoying the Nintendo Switch, if we can create engaging software, we’re keen to keep delivering fresh titles.”
Furukawa further explained, “However, exclusive games become essential when rolling out new hardware. We intend to explore various strategies to entice as many players as possible to our games on both Nintendo Switch and its successor, the Nintendo Switch 2.”
If you’re curious about what’s coming next from the company, tune into the Nintendo Direct: Nintendo Switch 2 presentation. They’ve scheduled the broadcast for Wednesday, April 2, at 6am PT / 9am ET / 2pm BST / 3pm CEST.
