John Gonzalez, the talented writer who brought us the storyline for Fallout: New Vegas, has made his return to Obsidian Entertainment. Sharing the news on LinkedIn, Gonzalez clarified that while he’s back at Obsidian, he’s not involved in creating a sequel for Fallout: New Vegas. His earlier stint at the studio was between 2008 and 2011. Before that, he gathered experience over two years with Ubisoft in their Shanghai location.
After his time with the creation of New Vegas, Gonzalez took his storytelling skills to Warner Bros’ Monolith Productions, contributing as the lead narrative designer for Middle-earth: Shadow of Mordor. His journey didn’t stop there; he then transitioned to Guerrilla Games in the Netherlands, where he played a crucial role in shaping the narrative for Horizon: Zero Dawn. Following that, Gonzalez spent nearly three years at Smilegate’s studio in Barcelona.
Aside from his impressive track record in game development, Gonzalez is branching out into literature. He’s set to publish a novel titled “God Mode: Single Player” in 2025, giving fans yet another medium to enjoy his storytelling prowess.
