Acer has just rolled out an exciting lineup of six new Radeon RX 9070 series graphics cards, showcasing models that feature both base and overclocked versions, with blistering boost clocks reaching up to 3.1 GHz.
In their latest launch, Acer has introduced the BiFrost and Nitro editions of the Radeon RX 9070 XT and RX 9070 GPUs, with the Nitro RX 9070 XT OC model carrying a hefty price tag of $829. AMD enthusiasts will find this launch particularly interesting, as Acer presents a fresh batch of RDNA 4 GPUs, although Acer is not as prolific as some other major AMD board partners. Still, they’ve produced an impressive six models, split evenly between the two new editions.
Within this lineup, Acer brings us two versions of the Nitro edition for each Radeon model—the RX 9070 XT and the RX 9070—as well as a BiFrost edition for each. The BiFrost series stands out with Acer’s top-tier styling and cooling, whereas the Nitro models cater more to mainstream customers, all while maintaining competitive specs.
Let’s dive into the specifics of the BiFrost editions. The Acer BiFrost Radeon RX 9070 XT OC 16 GB boasts a triple-fan configuration paired with a sleek shroud adorned with silver accents on the central fan, designed to optimize heat dissipation with its FrostBlade 4.0 ring fans and a counter-spin system. Measuring approximately 295 mm and occupying a 2.5-slot width, this card is factory-tuned for up to 3.1 GHz, promising a gaming experience like no other.
The BiFrost Radeon RX 9070 OC 16 GB is quite similar in design, with the main difference being the power setup—it uses two 8-pin connectors, unlike its XT sibling’s three. Interestingly, both models share a 340W power rating, though the RX 9070 inherently requires less. While the dual connections and a PCI-E x16 slot are adequate for the 340W demand, it leaves less headroom for overclocking compared to the XT model.
Moving on to the Nitro lineup, it offers both non-overclocked and overclocked variations of each RX 9070 card. The Acer Nitro Radeon RX 9070 XT OC mirrors the BiFrost edition with a three-fan configuration, up to 3.1 GHz boost clock, a 2.5-slot thickness, and the same 295 mm length. It depends on three 8-pin power inputs and a 340W TDP. Its non-overclocked counterpart, however, is rated at 304W and supports up to 2970 MHz in boost with a 2.4 GHz game mode limit.
Next, we have the Acer Nitro Radeon RX 9070 OC and RX 9070 16 GB models, with maximum clock speeds of 2.7 GHz and 2.52 GHz, respectively. While the OC version is tuned for 245W, the non-overclocked edition manages with 220W, but both share a similar build design.
Acer hasn’t disclosed the full pricing details for all models, but the Nitro RX 9070 XT OC 16 GB will retail at an eye-catching $829.99. The BiFrost edition is likely to be even more expensive. While availability details are sparse, we can expect the Nitro RX 9070 XT OC to hit the shelves in April in the United States.
