Nintendo Updates – April 10, 2025 – Announcements

After a whirlwind of a week, the Nintendo Switch OG returns to what has sadly become its usual, unremarkable offerings.

There were a few things that slipped past us last week, like Namco’s Assault Plus making an appearance in the Archives.

Summing up last week is easy: “Well, that escalated quickly.” The uproar from the Switch 2 Direct, followed by the chaos of 20500, made the usual eShop debris seem almost endearing. Despite this storm, there’s some good stuff to look forward to. Star Overdrive, the hovercraft-centric title we caught a glimpse of during the Direct, is on deck. Unbelievably, it’s only been a week and a half since that reveal, yet it feels like ages. Additionally, Battlefield Waltz, a collaboration between Idea Factory and Otomate, is set to debut, but it’s wise to wait for news on any day one patches before diving in. (That’s my plan, at least.)

A few other titles to keep on your radar include “Promise Mascot Agency,” another addition to the Snow Bros. universe, and this week’s EggConsole game is a classic maze challenge from 1983—so those outside Japan can safely aim for Pyramid Warp.

North America Releases
Here’s what’s arriving in North America:

• Battlefield Waltz hits the $49.99 mark in the US and $75.60 in Canada on Tuesday.
• Big Buck Hunter: Ultimate Trophy will be available for $39.99 in the US and $49.99 in Canada on Friday.
• Star Overdrive is priced at $34.99 and $42.99.
• Snow Bros. 2 Special is launching at $29.99/$42.99.
• Promise Mascot Agency will set you back $24.99/$32.50.
• Pocket Bravery arrives at $19.99/$25.99 on Wednesday.
• More titles like Leo & Mia: Animal Rescue and Progress Orders follow suit with similar pricing.

Prices range widely, with bargains like Shape Drop at just $0.99/$1.29 coming this Saturday.

Sales and Price Drops
A notable mention is Hades, currently enjoying a 65% discount to celebrate the sequel announcement landing on Switches 1 and 2. Keep an eye out on PSPrices and DekuDeals for more bargains.

Europe has its own lineup:

• Battlefield Waltz drops for €49.99 or £44.99 on Tuesday.
