Hello there! Oli here, taking the wheel as the game director at Kaizen Game Works—the masterminds behind Paradise Killer. I’m beyond excited to share that our newest brainchild, an open-world, mascot-management crime drama called Promise Mascot Agency, now has a demo you can play on PS5 starting today!
We’ve poured heart, soul, and countless hours into this game, and the team at Kaizen is buzzing with anticipation to see PlayStation fans dive into it. Let’s get real—there’s nothing quite like the PS5. Our roots are firmly planted in the PlayStation universe, having grown up alongside the original PlayStation, PS2, PS3, and PS4. I personally have a stash of PlayStation and PS2 games, which served as a creative beacon while crafting Promise Mascot Agency.
There’s a special place in my heart for those PS2 titles where you can simply hang out and get into stuff. Ever tried games like Way of the Samurai, Raw Danger, Boku No Natsuyasumi, or Steambot Chronicles? They’re gems! These games let you unwind, engage with intriguing characters, make pivotal decisions, and explore at your own pace. That’s exactly the essence we aimed to capture—a vibrant world bursting with mysteries, quirky characters, hidden secrets, thrilling gameplay, and an atmosphere that’s simply captivating.
Step into the shoes of Michi, once a high-ranking yakuza lieutenant, now in exile. Joining forces with Pinky, the delightful chaos goblin, your mission is to rescue a floundering mascot agency and unravel the conspiracy that led Michi to a cursed coastal town in Japan. Here, mascots are more than just costumes—they’re living beings, and Kaso-Machi is brimming with oddballs who fit in nowhere else. To turn things around, Michi must forge a new family of mascots, helping them chase their dreams while saving the agency and his yakuza ties back home.
Kaso-Machi isn’t just any town—it’s shrouded in a mystical curse. A mountain stands at its center, home to gods and spirits. The town’s air is thick with superstitions and tales of the supernatural. As Michi, you’ll tackle the eerie specters, elusive sin talismans, and even encounter the mythical Tsuchinoko. But remember, time is ticking; the curse spells doom for any yakuza lingering too long. Can Michi crack the mystery and save both the mascots and himself?
This journey kicked off four years ago, alongside the talented Ikumi Nakamura and Mai Mattori, to bring our characters and world to life. Blending Kaizen’s signature style with Nakamura-san’s flair, we’ve sculpted something truly exceptional. We’re a Western outfit but have collaborated with Japanese artists, musicians, and creatives to infuse genuine cultural essence into our world. Our creative process involves giving artists the freedom to create something meaningful, resulting in a game rich with diverse influences and authentic experiences.
Recently, we revealed our stellar voice cast, featuring Takaya Kuroda, known for Kiryu Kazuma, as Michi. Landing voice acting was a surprising win, and having Kuroda-san just casually show up was surreal. He joins forces with Ayano Shibuya as Pinky, crafting a dynamic akin to a buddy-cop duo. With a cast of fantastic voice talents, we’re proud to announce the voice acting debut for Shuhei Yoshida and SWERY, too.
We’re a small but mighty team that’s put everything into making this grand, fun-filled, 20-hour open world RPG. We’re thrilled to offer it to you and hope you enjoy every bit of the demo—especially the DualSense controller’s haptic feedback, adaptive triggers, and speaker features on the PS5. Stay tuned for more announcements about the full release. Meanwhile, jump in, keep those promises, and chase your dreams!
Don’t wait—grab the demo on the PlayStation Store today!
