Resist just rolled out its first update since hitting the shelves on PlayStation VR2 last week, and it’s packed with some intriguing enhancements. For those gaming on the PS5 Pro, there’s now a 120Hz mode by default, promising a smoother, more eye-friendly experience of the game’s fast-paced, first-person world. This new patch also tidied up some pesky issues: particularly, it put an end to social screen tearing, fixed the occasional problem of players unexpectedly dropping through the virtual world, and remedied that annoying hang-up on a black screen when switching languages.
The Binary Mill took to Twitter to break the news, saying, “Resist’s first PlayStation VR2 update is live, bringing fixes and PS5 Pro 120Hz support.” This tweet outlined the changes, including the 120Hz mode for PS5 Pro users and the bug fixes.
Originally, Resist landed on the Oculus Quest back in 2021 and made its way to PC VR the following year. It has often been likened to the beloved Spider-Man games, which have a longstanding reputation on Sony consoles. This makes the enhanced PS VR2 version feel right at home. However, while PlayStation gamers enjoy these new features, there’s buzz from PC users questioning whether they too might get to experience the higher refresh rate. As of yet, the developers at Binary Mill haven’t hinted at extending this particular upgrade to the PC.
Meanwhile, there’s a brief word on their upcoming game, Into Black, set for Quest and PS VR2. Binary Mill reassures fans that it’s “looking real good, and it’s not too far away now,” building anticipation for what’s next on their horizon.
