The online gaming scene is buzzing with excitement as the “Super Smash Bros. Ultimate European Online Challenge: Winter Clash 2024” gets underway. This highly anticipated event is hosted within the Nintendo Switch’s acclaimed game, Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, and is skillfully organized by Nintendo of Europe SE, based in Frankfurt, Germany.
Mark your calendars for Friday, December 6th, when the competition kicks off from 18:00 to 20:00 CET (that’s 17:00 to 19:00 UK time). This thrilling event is open to gamers across various European nations, including Austria, France, Germany, and the United Kingdom, among others. However, gamers from distant regions such as the Azores and Svalbard may face participation challenges due to geographical limits.
To dive into the action, players must ensure they have a Nintendo Account registered in one of the eligible countries and an active Nintendo Switch Online membership. Whether you’re on a paid plan or still enjoying a free trial, you’re good to go. Once you’ve made sure your account is in order, access the main game menu, navigate to “Online,” and select the “Official Tourney Qualifiers” to join the fray.
As participants compete, their skills will be reflected in their Tourney score—a unique rating system used for these exclusive events. Scoring is dynamic, taking into account match outcomes and the Tourney scores of opponents faced. Players can monitor their scores at any time during the event. The more you play, the better the opportunity to boost your score, with matches starting within the event period counting towards your final tally even if they conclude after the event’s close.
Prizes await the top performers. The leading 10 players with standout Tourney scores will each earn 2,500 My Nintendo Gold Points. To maintain fairness, if a participant alters their account settings to a non-eligible country, they face disqualification. Any form of cheating or misconduct, as outlined in the Nintendo Code of Conduct, also results in disqualification and potential account suspension.
Rewards are strictly non-transferable, with no alternatives in cash or kind. Nintendo promises to credit the winners’ accounts with Gold Points within two weeks post-event. Gold Points can be verified via the My Nintendo Point Log by logging in.
As with any such endeavor, the Nintendo Account Agreement and Privacy Policy, along with the My Nintendo Rewards Programme Terms, are in full effect.
Here’s wishing all competitors the best of luck in this dazzling display of gaming prowess!
