Dave Baszucki, the CEO of Roblox, recently addressed concerns from parents about the platform, suggesting that those uneasy with potential risks should keep their children off it entirely. In an interview with the BBC, Baszucki, who also co-founded the popular platform, emphasized the importance of parental discretion.
“If parents aren’t comfortable, I’d advise them not to allow their kids on Roblox,” Baszucki explained. “I know it might seem counter-intuitive, but parental judgment is paramount.”
When asked about the reports of negative experiences and malevolent users on Roblox, Baszucki made it clear: “Within our company, we believe that even one negative incident is too many. We actively monitor for bullying and harassment, and we have robust filtering systems in place. Our efforts extend to the point of collaborating with law enforcement when necessary.”
These remarks come in response to recent reports highlighting the misuse of Roblox by bad actors. In light of these concerns, the company has intensified its child safety measures to better protect its young users.
