Sonic Included in Nintendo Switch 2 Launch Day Lineup

Did you manage to snag a pre-order for the Nintendo Switch 2 last night or this morning? If so, you’re in for a treat! SEGA just announced that Sonic will be among the beloved characters featured on launch day. That’s right, SONIC X SHADOW GENERATIONS will hit the shelves on June 5th.

Sonic will be joining the ranks of Yakuza 0 Director’s Cut and Puyo Puyo Tetris 2S as part of the hotly anticipated Switch 2 release titles. You can already place your pre-orders for both physical and digital versions of these games.

For those excited about SONIC X SHADOW GENERATIONS, you’ll get to play as Shadow in a fresh storyline, showcasing his unmatched abilities that truly earn him the title of the Ultimate Life Form! Plus, it includes a complete remaster of the well-loved Sonic Generations, a thrilling mix of 3D and 2D adventures featuring enhanced visuals and new bonus content.

Get set for Puyo Puyo Tetris 2S, where you can dive into its exhilarating puzzle challenges! The game introduces a “Puyo Tetris Doubles” mode for exciting 2v2 battles, letting teams pull off powerful combos using a shared board. It also offers a variety of local and online modes supporting up to four players, and a roster of 40 characters, including the iconic Sonic the Hedgehog, each with unique stats and abilities.

Then there’s the Yakuza 0 Director’s Cut—an ultimate edition of the much-acclaimed Yakuza series origin story, now enhanced for the Nintendo Switch 2. This version features previously unseen story cutscenes, a brand-new “Red Light Raid” online multiplayer mode to battle through with friends, and offers English and Chinese voiceovers, alongside subtitles in French, Italian, German, Spanish, and Simplified Chinese.

Pre-orders are also live for RAIDOU Remastered: The Mystery of the Soulless Army, which will be available on June 19th, along with Two Point Museum, arriving later this year.
