Nintendo has yet to officially announce a new date for Nintendo Switch 2 pre-orders in North America, despite recent reports from IGN. Their report referred to an FAQ on Nintendo’s pre-order page, which mentions that the first round of invitations for their pre-order program would go out on May 8th. However, this date isn’t new information—it’s been there since the page was originally launched on April 2nd, just two days before news of the delay broke. The delay in Switch 2 pre-orders traces back to tariffs imposed on several countries by former President Donald Trump.
