Xbox Insiders are in for a treat with the latest update, which now allows them to stream the games they already own via Xbox Cloud Gaming. This comes alongside streaming some of the top titles available on Game Pass. Although the list of compatible games hasn’t expanded, those with Xbox Game Pass Ultimate subscriptions can now stream select titles on both the Xbox Series X|S and Xbox One.
Microsoft continues to enhance Xbox Cloud Gaming for Xbox Insiders. This new feature is accessible to Insiders in the alpha Skip-Ahead and Alpha preview rings. Currently, 50 non-Game Pass games are ready for streaming using Xbox Cloud Gaming. According to a post on Xbox Wire, these Alpha Skip-Ahead and Alpha Insiders can stream their owned games across Xbox consoles as well as on PCs, smartphones, and tablets in 28 different countries. To join in, Insiders need an active Xbox Game Pass Ultimate subscription.
Initially, console streaming was projected for release next year, making this update a delightful surprise. Testers will notice a cloud gaming badge on supported games in their Xbox console library, and there’s an option to filter through “Ready to play” and “Cloud gaming.”
Microsoft has also hinted at future plans, noting that “Support for launching directly from the Store app and streaming in the Xbox app on Windows PC will be coming in the future.”
Since the feature’s initial rollout last month, Game Pass Ultimate members gained the capability to stream certain owned games via web browsers. Among the 50 games currently supported are fan-favorites like Baldur’s Gate 3, Cyberpunk 2077, and Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2.
We’re eagerly anticipating when this feature becomes widely available, potentially by 2025. What about you? Are you excited about streaming your favorite Xbox Series X|S games with Xbox Cloud Gaming? We’d love to hear your thoughts!
