Rebellion is gearing up to launch its very first VR game from the Zombie Army series, set to bring its exciting co-op campaign to major VR platforms next month.
Scheduled for release on May 22nd, Zombie Army VR will be available on Quest 2 and later versions, PSVR 2, and SteamVR headsets. In this thrilling game, you’ll join the ranks of the Deadhunters, an elite team determined to put an end to the zombie apocalypse madness.
Rebellion invites players to “battle your way through the undead swarms near the devastated landscape of Nuremberg.” Your mission? Aid Captain Hermann Wolff, the legendary leader of the Deadhunters, as he searches for his lost family, all while fighting to liberate Europe from the clutches of a zombie apocalypse.
Boasting a “full-length, story-driven campaign,” the game offers both solo play and two-player co-op modes. You’ll also be armed with an authentic selection of World War II weaponry, including sniper rifles, submachine guns, and pistols—each of which can be dual-wielded and manually operated.
Throughout the game, you can earn XP to level up your Deadhunter and use Weapon Upgrade kits to enhance your arsenal’s range, accuracy, scope, and capacity.
Prepare to face more than just the average zombie; the game features franchise favorites such as Armored Giants, Suiciders, and Sniper Zombies, among others. Plus, in a nod to Rebellion’s Sniper Elite VR from 2021, the iconic X-ray Kill Cam returns, letting you savor those long-range kills in dramatic slow motion.
Zombie Army VR is currently available for pre-order on the Horizon Store for Quest 2 and newer models, the PlayStation Store for PSVR 2, and Steam for PC VR users. Right now, it’s being offered at a 10% discount, bringing the price down from its regular $30.
